Organic Costa Rica Tarrazu La Amistad
Our Costa Rican award winning coffee is produced by 3rd generation farmer Roberto Montero on his farm “La Amistad.” This 4,000 hectares Estate sits at the edge of a colossal forest preserve (La Amistad International Park) in Coto Brus.
La Amistad is a great example of meticulous agronomic and processing practices married with the deliciously sweet caturra and catuai varieties and the excellent growing conditions of the Tarrazu region in Costa Rica.

The coffee from Hacienda la Amistad shines not only in the cup, but in its commitment to the environment and community. Of the Estate’s 4,000 hectares, Roberto only utilizes 300 hectares for coffee cultivation and rest is dedicated to forest preservation.
Roberto’s commitment to organic farming pairs harmoniously with his commitment to his community. During the coffee harvest, Roberto provides housing and free access to medical care for the pickers, many of whom are indigenous peoples who bring their entire family along for the seasonal labor. The Estate also employees more than 100 full-time workers from the local area.
