Grand Parade Coffee's Ethiopia Yirgacheffe single origin coffee is produced by Bedhatu Jibicho. Bedhatu, a strong 80 year old female coffee farmer, started working in coffee in the early 1960s when the government gave land to her husband. She takes great pride in having managed her 84-acre farm for over 50 years. Today, Bedhatu works alongside her adult children and continues to pass on her rich tradition of organic coffee production without the use of chemical inputs.
A blueberry forward, Organic Ethiopian coffee!. A chocolate-mousse-like viscosity holds the complexity of flavors together with grace, and a really elegant finish of vanilla and light jasmine linger in the cup. This coffee is a prime example of an experienced and attentive producer.
Larger than most farms in the area, Bedhatu employees 20 year-round workers and 130 seasonal workers (primarily women) during the harvest season. As a family owned business, emphasis on social impact in the communities where they source coffee is taking shape.
